ACM @ UCM Mission Statement

The Association for Computing Machinery at the University of Central Missouri strives to unite students with related fields of study by providing out-of-class exposure. The objectives of ACM include the following:

  • Helping to improve the computing skills of our members.
  • Providing information regarding the science, design, development, construction, language, and applications of computers.
  • Allowing a means of communication between individuals with an interest in computing.

We have many activities in which our members can be involved in to advance their computing skills, such as—but definitely not limited to—programming contests, conferences, and other social events.

Friday, February 7th, 2014:

Not many people were able to show up because of Warrensburg's snowpocalypse 2014, but we went ahead and had the meeting. We didn't have any pizza, so one topic was fundraising. We discussed the potential for fundraising options like basic computer upgrades, virus scans, and website design; no decision was made. We also elected a new ACM Secretary/Webmaster—Amos Bailey. As of now, we have decided that this semester's meetings will take place once a month on Wednesdays at 4:20 p.m.
